Kansans for Life released a statement today in response to the over $4M additional funds Kansans for Constitutional Freedom received in the last weeks leading up to the August 2nd Election.
The funds totaled over $4M, which includes $1.25M from Michael Bloomberg, $25K from Steven Spielburg, $300K from NARAL, and $125K from the Center for Reproductive Rights.
“The ‘No campaign’s’ most recent campaign finance report is a who’s who of out-of-state, liberal elites and shows the lengths they were willing to go in order to keep Kansas a “haven” for extreme practices like live dismemberment abortion. After all, New York billionaire Mike Bloomberg, Hollywood elites like Steven Speilberg, and the George Soros-funded organizations included in the report hardly share the values Kansans hold.” said Danielle Underwood, Kansans for Life director of communications.
The abortion industry only bought itself more time with its lies. They will ultimately use the amendment’s loss to overturn our state’s abortion limits and the number of Kansas abortions will continue to skyrocket, proving their deceptions. In fact, just days after August 2nd, Kansas Senate Minority Leader Dinah Sykes, a key anti-amendment surrogate, stated that she is looking for non-legislative paths to pay for out-of-state abortions. Clearly, this means court action to strike the state’s prohibition on tax-funded abortions is one of their goals.
“As the abortion industry and its allies expose themselves and their actions harm greater numbers of women and children in Kansas, we are certain many Kansans who voted no will have buyer’s remorse. When this happens, Kansans for Life stands ready to take action to rein in the industry,” said Underwood.
