First involved in KFL as a college student in the ’90s, Amy Torkelson has held a variety of paid and volunteer roles over the years. As president of KSU Students for Life she focused on challenging students to consider facts supporting the pro-life position. Post college, she volunteered at a pregnancy resource center where she focused on practical help for women facing the challenges of an unplanned pregnancy.
The focus of Torkelson’s pro-life involvement has always been education. After graduating from KSU with a degree in Secondary Education, she volunteered to give youth group presentations on behalf of KFL. In early 1996 through the next five years she served as a full-time staff person. During a season away from KFL, Torkelson remained involved in KFL as a volunteer and then began working part-time as the newsletter editor and email news editor. She came back to work full time at the KFL office in 2017.
