April 30, 2021 – Topeka – Kansans for Life is pleased with today’s Kansas Supreme Court decision in the Tillman and Fleetwood v Goodpasture case, with regard to upholding the constitutionality of the legislature’s 2013 ban on wrongful birth lawsuits.
“It is a good decision in which the court recognizes the inherent dignity of all children, including children with disabilities,” said Jeanne Gawdun, KFL Director of Government Relations.
“Today’s ruling was not about an abortion regulation. We still fully expect that all of our current laws regulating the abortion industry will be struck down by the courts based on the 2019 Hodes decision. The recent district court decision declaring the 2015 ban on live dismemberment abortions unconstitutional further confirms the need to pass the VALUE THEM BOTH Amendment next year.”
