KFL Announces Merger, New Executive Director and Consulting Executive Director Role

Kansans for Life (KFL), the state’s largest pro-life organization, is announcing a merger with its Kansas City Regional Affiliate, KCKFL. For decades the organizations have worked in concert with each other and will now have a single Board of Directors. Peter Northcott will be the organization’s Executive Director and Mary Kay Culp is taking on the role of Consulting Executive Director.

“I am honored to stand on the shoulders of many pro-life heroes like Mary Kay Culp, KFL President Mary Wilkinson, Kathy Ostrowski, Karin Capron and the late David Gittrich, who have fought tirelessly for the most vulnerable in our state,” said Peter Northcott, KFL Executive Director. “With every limit on the abortion industry in danger of being removed, KFL will continue to mobilize in the defense of both mothers and babies.”

As Executive Director, Northcott will oversee the statewide organization. He has previously served as KFL’s Director of Operations and Outreach and has extensive experience in grassroots mobilization and government affairs. His full bio can be read HERE.

“For many years Kansans for Life and its KC Regional Affiliate have worked closely together yet were technically separate organizations,” stated Mary Kay Culp. “This will help us streamline operations as we continue to take on the abortion industry, pass the needed VALUE THEM BOTH Amendment and carry on the mission of saving countless lives. Peter is the right person for the job and the future is bright for the pro-life movement in Kansas.”

Over the last few decades, Culp has become one of the most recognizable advocates in Kansas. She has served as Executive Director for both the KFL and KC Regional Affiliate. Her new role as Consulting Executive Director includes a wide range of responsibilities that include development, mentoring the incoming Executive Director and helping to oversee strategies that grow the organization while ensuring it adheres to its core values.

Her full bio can be found HERE.

Though the merger will take a few months to officially complete, these key role changes and other major unification steps began on January 1st, 2021.
