Issues Home Incest

Q. How common is abortion for cases of incest?

A. The Alan Guttmacher Institute, which is the research arm of Planned Parenthood, reports that less than one half of one percent of abortions are performed for cases of incest. Click here to read the report here.

Q. Why does Kansans for Life oppose abortions for cases of incest?

A. An unborn child is a unique human being, regardless of the circumstances of his or her conception.

Q. Does abortion help a young girl who is a victim of incest?

A. No, abortion helps to cover up the situation of incest and makes it more likely the incest will continue.

Q. Would Kansans for Life support a law banning abortion except for documented cases of rape and incest?

A. Yes, because such a law would stop 98% of abortions. We would continue to work until abortion is unthinkable for any reason.
