SIX ON SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE AGENDA - WASHINGTON, D.C.
The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee may vote on the Steve Six nomination to the U.S. District Court of Appeals. See separate email and PLEASE call our Kansas senators today and tomorrow and anytime up to the point his nomination is (hopefully) withdrawn. FRIDAY, JULY 15: 9:00 a.m.,
PLANNED PARENTHOOD CRIMINAL TRIAL starts again after a 2 year stall caused mainly by former AG Steve Six (see above) who moved to keep evidence away and gagged the judge who originally found probable cause. Location: Johnson County Courthouse in Olathe, Division 5 - Planned Parenthood has filed motions to insure that the abortion reports are handled via some kind of complicated computer display.
Johnson County sex crimes prosecutor Chris McMullin (who also is acting officially on behalf of the Attorney General's office) strongly disagrees and filed a response to PP's claims, saying their motions may be unconstitutional, and then said:
"The Office of District Attorney for the Tenth Judicial District has vast experience in presenting evidence of a sensitive nature in open Court."
“For instance, this office routinely prosecutes sexual assault cases. Victim records, including colposcope photographs of genitals, are presented in court, in a discrete manner. Pornography depicting minors is routinely presented in court. Are these items any less deserving of privacy and respect? The litigants have clear direction from this State’s highest Court regarding the handling of the patient records, and these directions will be followed. There is no need for expensive, complicated additional procedures to correct a problem that does not exist.”

PHILL KLINE ETHICS TRIAL (part 2) in Topeka. It concerns issues surrounding the PP grand jury, not the PP criminal case.
Begins at 10:00 Tuesday, then at 9:30 a.m. the rest of the days. Expected to continue to Thursday or Friday. Held at Insurance Building a block north of the capitol at Jackson & 7th Street, Topeka.
